PRIVACY POLICY

This page explains what information Vera's Ballroom Bracket uses, why it is used, and the choices players have.

Vera's Ballroom Bracket is a small, unofficial fan game created and managed by Grace Scott. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Dancing with the Stars, ABC, Disney, or any related rights holder.

INFORMATION WE USE

When you create and use an account, the game may store:

  • Your email address and account authentication information.
  • Your display name, fantasy team name, profile picture, and VIP/admin status when applicable.
  • Your fantasy team selections, weekly picks, bracket choices, scores, leaderboard position, and related timestamps.
  • Push-notification subscription information if you choose to enable reminders on a device.
  • Basic technical information needed for sign-in, session management, security, and the installed web-app experience.

HOW THE INFORMATION IS USED

Information is used only to operate and improve the game, including to:

  • Create and maintain player accounts.
  • Save fantasy teams, picks, brackets, and scores.
  • Display player names, team names, profile pictures, fantasy teams, and leaderboard standings to other participants.
  • Send account-verification or account-related email.
  • Send deadline reminders when you have chosen to enable push notifications.
  • Troubleshoot bugs, prevent misuse, and keep the game working correctly.

SERVICES USED TO RUN THE SITE

The game relies on third-party services that may process information only as needed to provide their services.

Supabase

Supabase is used for account authentication, database storage, profile-image storage, server functions, and scheduled game tasks.

Resend

Resend may be used to deliver account-verification and other account-related email.

Browser Push Services

If you enable reminders, your browser or device's push-notification service is used to deliver them. Push reminders are optional and can be disabled through your browser or device settings.

PROFILE PICTURES & PUBLIC GAME INFORMATION

Your display name, fantasy team name, profile picture, drafted couples, points, and leaderboard position are intended to be visible to other league participants. Profile pictures are stored using a public image URL so they can load on the site. Do not upload an image you do not want other participants to see.

DATA SALES & ADVERTISING

Vera's Ballroom Bracket does not sell player personal information and does not use player information for targeted advertising.

DATA RETENTION & DELETION

Game information may be kept for the current season and for as long as reasonably needed to operate, troubleshoot, or maintain the game. You may ask to have your account information corrected or deleted by contacting Grace Scott, the site administrator, through the normal league contact channel.

Some limited information may remain temporarily in backups, logs, or service-provider systems after a deletion request.

CHILDREN

This game is not intended for children under 13, and it is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

This policy may be updated as the website changes. When meaningful changes are made, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated.
